MVPW-07 is joining ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays franchise. ESPN confirmed the addition Wednesday, announcing that the Nov. 8 championship supercard, headlined by Elif Nur Turhan defending her IBF lightweight title against Alycia Baumgardner, is part of the fall expansion of the Sunday night women’s sports window.
ESPN launched Women’s Sports Sundays this summer as a WNBA and NWSL showcase replacing its longtime Sunday Night Baseball slot. The fall continuation adds college volleyball, more NWSL matches, women’s college basketball and MVPW boxing to the lineup, running 11 consecutive weeks starting Sept. 13.
Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions, said they’re “grateful to ESPN for continuing to invest alongside us” as MVPW-07 becomes part of the expanded slate. ESPN Vice President of Women’s Sports Programming Susie Piotrkowski called the franchise “a unique, growing franchise that showcases the full power of our women’s sports portfolio.”
The Nov. 8 event at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas carries four world title fights. Turhan (14-0, 8 KOs) puts her IBF lightweight belt on the line against Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KOs), who moves up from 130 pounds in pursuit of a second divisional title.
The co-main event features Tiara Brown defending her WBC featherweight title against Ellie Scotney, while Skye Nicolson puts her WBC super bantamweight title on the line against Miyo Yoshida. The card also includes Ramla Ali challenging Mikiah Kreps for the vacant WBO and IBF junior featherweight titles.
MVPW-07 airs live on ESPN and the ESPN App on Nov. 8.
