Vasiliy Lomachenko isn’t ready to talk about Gervonta Davis just yet.
The three-division champion is planning a comeback, and when Fight Hub TV asked whether “Tank” was part of those plans, he slowed things down.
You run too fast with the question. I need to check my body in a real fight.
Lomachenko, 38, hasn’t fought since he stopped George Kambosos Jr. in the 11th round in May 2024. He announced his retirement just over a year later.
He now plans to return at 130 pounds, a more natural weight for him after decision losses to Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney at lightweight. Charly Suarez, also 38, has been mentioned as a possible first opponent.
A win there could open bigger doors at super featherweight. O’Shaquie Foster beat Emanuel Navarrete over the weekend to unify the WBC, WBO and IBF titles, and he wants the winner of Anthony Cacace vs. Nick Ball for the WBA belt on Dec. 19.
That leaves Lomachenko with two possible paths, a run at undisputed or a bigger payday against Davis. For now, he wants to see what he has left first.
