Tyson Fury has given up on Anthony Joshua again, and he already has a replacement in mind.
Fury posted a video calling out Oleksandr Usyk for a third fight in November, days after Joshua’s side dug in on staging their own bout in the United Kingdom.
So, it looks like AJ has —- his pants yet again. After 11 years, he’s finally —- his pants yet again. So, this would only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
He gave Usyk his due on the first two.
Listen, you got the decisions last time. Fair play to you. Good luck to you, but let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November. The ball is now in your court, Oleksandr. Do you want to fight me this year in 2026, or are you calling it quits? Let me know because I’m now looking for a new opponent.
Usyk’s camp has effectively answered already. Advisor Serhii Lapin said this week that a Fury trilogy would only be considered after the Deontay Wilder fight the team is targeting for March 2027 in the United States. Nothing on either front is signed.
Usyk beat Fury by split decision in May 2024 and by unanimous decision in the December rematch. He vacated the WBA, WBC and IBF titles in June, kept the Ring Magazine championship and has said he has one fight left without formally retiring.
The Joshua negotiation has been ugly for weeks. Joshua’s contract puts the fight in Britain and bars Dana White and TKO from any involvement, and Eddie Hearn says Joshua rejected the Madison Square Garden move outright this week. Hearn said last month that he should be suing White over the venue talks, arguing White was using his fighter to broker a deal he had no rights to. White’s answer was that he would not play those games.
