Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight could be a third meeting with Tyson Fury or a showdown with unbeaten cruiserweight champion David Benavidez.
The Ring’s Mike Coppinger reported on X that both fights are on the table for Usyk.
A trilogy with Tyson Fury (if he beats AJ) and David Benavidez are seen as viable options for the [Ring Magazine] heavyweight champ.
Talks for a fight between Usyk and Deontay Wilder ended without a deal. Wilder has since been linked to a bout with cruiserweight Jai Opetaia on the Fury vs. Anthony Joshua undercard.
Fury and Joshua meet on December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Usyk beat Fury twice in 2024. He has previously named a Fury trilogy as the fight he wants to end his career. Usyk’s promoter, Sergey Lapin, has since told Sky Sports that the Fury “chapter is closed.”
Usyk vacated his WBA, WBC and IBF titles on June 26. He said he was leaving the belts but not the sport, with one “last dance” still to come. He remains The Ring’s heavyweight champion.
That decision came a month after Usyk stopped Rico Verhoeven in the 11th round in Egypt.
Benavidez is 32-0 and holds the WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles. He is in line to face WBC champion Michal Cieslak on December 12 in Phoenix. Benavidez has said he would fight Usyk.
