Dana White answered Eddie Hearn without answering any of it.
Hearn spent the weekend blaming White and TKO for the state of Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua, saying TKO went behind his back on Friday to offer Joshua money to move the fight to America and that Matchroom has written to them about it. Fury responded by backing White, calling Joshua a coward and asking Oleksandr Usyk for a third fight instead. White got his turn after the Contender Series on Tuesday.
My update would be: Tyson, thank you for all the kind words. I mean, guys, you don’t have to be rocket scientists to see what’s going on here. And I’ve been saying the same thing since Bournemouth. Since we had the fight in Bournemouth, I’ve been saying the same thing. If you can’t see through this, then you know. Yeah. Yeah.
He did not address the specific accusation, and he did not name Hearn.
The dispute is about geography. Both men signed in April for a fight in November. Joshua’s contract puts it in Britain and bars White and TKO from any involvement. Fury, Netflix and the promoters behind the show want Madison Square Garden, and moving it requires an addendum that Matchroom has refused to sign without compensation for the tax hit Joshua takes fighting in America, among other terms.
Hearn says Joshua has stopped negotiating and is standing firm on the United Kingdom. Fury says he is done waiting either way, and has told Usyk the ball is in his court for a November date. Usyk’s advisor Serhii Lapin said last week that a Fury trilogy would only be considered after the Deontay Wilder fight the team is targeting for March 2027.
