Chris Eubank Jr. recently revealed that he is a free agent with no signed deal in place, telling reporters he is weighing multiple competing offers from promoters and broadcasters as he plots a ring return.

The 36-year-old framed the situation as the fighter, not the promotional companies, setting the terms. Eubank Jr. said to Boxing King Media:

There’s no specific plan, there’s no contracts drawn up. I am a free agent. I am not tied down to any one promoter, outfit, or any one broadcaster,

I’m free, and it’s a beautiful position to be in because the industry knows this, and we have a lot of exciting opportunities and offers to weigh up and pick from, and decide which route we want to go.

Eubank Jr. has not fought since his unanimous decision loss to Conor Benn in their November 2025 rematch. He has previously confirmed he is targeting a comeback later this year while recovering from health issues he has not publicly detailed.

Eubank Jr. Says The Benn Fight Was Not The Real Him

Eubank Jr. pointed to undisclosed health problems as the reason his performance against Benn fell short of his standards. He said he is now following a structured recovery program with the aim of returning to top form.

I’m a fighter. I’ve always been in love with the sport so I will campaign for as long as I can, until the wheels fall off,” he said. “They nearly fell off in that last fight, but you know, we kept things together, and since then I’ve been on a recovery program, getting back to full health, getting back to the old Chris Eubank Jr. In that last fight, you saw a fighter that you know it wasn’t me, everyone knows that.

The free-agent confirmation adds weight to earlier reporting on preliminary interest from suitors. Eddie Hearn had already addressed speculation about talks with Eubank Jr., and the fighter is now making clear that Matchroom is not the only outfit at the table.

No Set Opponent, But Fan Demand Will Decide

Eubank Jr. did not name a specific opponent. However, he said that fan interest will shape his next move. He left the door open to a title pursuit while acknowledging the difficulty of securing one.

There are a lot of names that would make for exciting fights. There are a lot of people that the fans want to see me step into the ring with,” he said.

I’ve done so much in my career, there’s nothing like ‘oh, I have to get this fight, I have to fight this guy.’ I’d love to win a world title. I’d love to get another strap, but that’s easier said than done.

Eubank Jr. said he expects to be back in the ring “maybe towards the end of the year,” with the final decision coming down to what he believes is best for the closing stretch of his career.
