Jake Paul’s team says it is negotiating with four possible opponents for his return to boxing, and Paul used the news to question whether anyone will actually sign.
Nakisa Bidarian, the Most Valuable Promotions co-founder, said in a post on X on Thursday that MVP is “actively negotiating with 4 potential opponents” for a return in late 2026 or early 2027. He said the opponent will determine the location and distribution. He did not name the four fighters.
Paul quote-posted it with a message aimed at fighters in general. “Let’s see who actually signs the contract,” he wrote, adding that fighters do a lot of talking but lack the nerve to go through with it. He did not name anyone.
Paul has not fought since Anthony Joshua stopped him in the sixth round on December 19 in Miami, breaking his jaw in two places. Bidarian announced on October 8 that Paul had been cleared to return to the ring, and Paul followed with a wish list led by Canelo Alvarez and Francis Ngannou.
At least one name on that list has been publicly lining up. Darren Till said this week he is waiting on a contract to fight Paul. No opponent, date or venue has been announced.
