Vasiliy Lomachenko plans to return in November at 130 pounds.
Lomachenko told Brian Custer at a Salita Promotions event in Puerto Rico that he is coming back at super featherweight. Custer shared the news on X.
The Ukrainian announced his retirement in June 2025. His last fight came in May 2024, when he stopped George Kambosos Jr. in the 11th round to win the IBF lightweight title.
Lomachenko, 38, is a three-division world champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Before beating Kambosos, he lost a unanimous decision to Devin Haney.
It was reported in May that he was coming out of retirement. His promotional deal with Top Rank has since expired, leaving him free to explore options elsewhere.
A return at 130 pounds could eventually put Lomachenko in line for the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs. O’Shaquie Foster. Navarrete, the WBO and IBF champion, faces WBC champion Foster in a unification bout on October 24 in San Antonio. Foster has already said he is interested in facing Lomachenko.
Lomachenko is unlikely to jump straight into a title fight given his time away. The division also has several mandatory challengers waiting, including the WBO’s Charly Suarez.
