Vasiliy Lomachenko is coming back for one reason: to become undisputed.
Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas, told Brian Custer that the former three-division world champion is targeting WBA super featherweight champion Anthony Cacace first. Custer shared the details on X.

Lomachenko told Custer last week that he plans to return in November at 130 pounds.
Emanuel Navarrete, the WBO and IBF champion, faces WBC champion O’Shaquie Foster in a unification bout on October 24 in San Antonio. Cacace holds the remaining WBA belt.
Getting to Cacace will not be simple. The Belfast fighter is set to face Nick Ball on December 19, and the winner has been ordered to take on Elnur Samedov next. That could push any Lomachenko title shot back to mid-2027, unless he faces Samedov first or the Russian agrees to step aside.
Lomachenko, 38, announced his retirement in June 2025. He had won the IBF lightweight title by stopping George Kambosos Jr. in May 2024. He came up short in a bid for undisputed status at lightweight in 2023, losing a controversial decision to Devin Haney.
