Canelo Alvarez got a serenade before his return fight.
At Friday’s weigh-in in Riyadh, WBO featherweight champion Rafael Espinoza made weight for his own title defense. Minutes later, he grabbed the moment to sing for Canelo, and Ring Magazine captured it.
Canelo did a double take, stood through the performance and applauded when Espinoza finished.
Espinoza, 28-0, defends his title against Ricardo Blandon on the card. Canelo faces WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli in the main event on Saturday, live on DAZN.
It’s Canelo’s first fight since he lost his undisputed title to Terence Crawford last September, and Crawford has offered Mbilli some advice for Saturday. A win over Mbilli would put one of his old 168-pound belts back around his waist.
