Canelo Alvarez knows exactly which fight he wants most.
The Mexican star told The Ring’s Mike Coppinger that he wants a rematch with Terence Crawford more than anything. Speaking from Oleksandr Usyk’s gym in Spain, Alvarez said he has studied their fight closely.
I always do good in the rematches so I hope that fight happen again. [I’ve watched it] like five times and it was very close. There was not much [in it]. Like I said, there was very little [in it] to have the win or loss.
I know what happened and I know my mistakes. He is a great fighter and you need to be one hundred percent [to face him].
Crawford beat Alvarez by unanimous decision in September 2025 to take his undisputed super middleweight titles. Crawford then retired in December and has since dismissed possible fights with Ryan Garcia and Jaron Ennis.
Alvarez has a strong record in rematches. He fought Gennady Golovkin to a draw in 2017, then beat him in their second and third fights.
First, Alvarez has business on Oct. 31. He challenges Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mbilli was elevated to full champion in January after the WBC stripped Crawford of the title.
The fight is still scheduled to go ahead in Riyadh despite unrest in the region.
