Ryan Garcia is ready to face Terence Crawford. Crawford, on the other hand, is hearing about it for the first time.
The Ring’s Mike Coppinger reported on Friday that issues behind the scenes could stop Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua from happening on December 11. The fight was officially announced earlier this week for Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
According to Coppinger, a Crawford vs. Garcia fight is being considered as a replacement if Fury vs. Joshua falls through.
Garcia wasted little time sending a message to Turki Alalshikh on social media.
You know I’m ready to Turki to run the fade. I’m ready!!!!
Crawford was far more surprised to see his name in the mix.

He also replied to Coppinger’s post, asking where he had heard it.
Crawford, 38, announced his retirement last December. He left the sport as a three-division undisputed champion after moving up to 168 pounds and beating Canelo Alvarez by unanimous decision. He also won world titles in four lower divisions.
Garcia, 28, is coming off a second-round stoppage of Conor Benn earlier this month. That was his first defense of the WBC welterweight title he won from Mario Barrios in February.
