Ryan Garcia On Floyd Mayweather: ‘If I Get Him Hurt Early It’s Over’

Ryan Garcia is already predicting a knockout of Floyd Mayweather as talks between the two sides reportedly get underway.

The WBC welterweight champion discussed Mayweather in Miami on Friday during an interview with Fred Beck of Fred Talks Fighting. The same segment saw him argue with Adrien Broner over Gervonta Davis.

At one point, Garcia asked Broner if he thought Mayweather could hang with him. He then explained how he sees the fight going.

If I get him hurt early it’s over. I’ve seen him, he’s a small man, his wrists are baby’s, he is a small man.

Garcia added that Mayweather’s name does not intimidate him.

I don’t give a f*** what his name is… You know what? F*** him.

Mayweather, 49, retired 50-0 after beating Conor McGregor in 2017 and has fought only exhibitions since. Garcia has insisted that Mayweather’s unbeaten record be on the line in a professional fight.

Garcia made his first title defense with a second-round stoppage of Conor Benn in September. Teofimo Lopez, who holds the WBA welterweight title, also remains a leading option for his next fight.
