Michael Zerafa says Chris Eubank Jr is pricing himself out of a fight between them.
The Australian, now signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom, wants Eubank next. He told IFL TV the two teams have been negotiating.
We want the Eubank fight. Our teams have been [going] back and forth. I believe I beat him.
Zerafa questioned Eubank’s motivation.
I believe that love for the sport’s not there anymore [for Eubank], he’s just chasing money fights.
He also suggested Eubank sees him as a dangerous matchup.
I feel like he knows I’m a risk … that’s why he’s pricing himself out a little bit.
Zerafa told Pro Box TV he believes he would knock Eubank out.
Zerafa has said Hearn is in talks with Victorian government officials about staging the fight in Melbourne. Early 2027 is the target Zerafa has mentioned, but nothing has been signed.
Eubank, 37, has not fought since November. Conor Benn beat him by a wide unanimous decision in their rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, dropping him twice in the 12th round. Eubank had won their first fight by unanimous decision in April 2025.
Both fights carried a 10-pound rehydration clause, which capped Eubank at 170 pounds on fight morning. He missed the 160-pound limit by a fraction of a pound before the first fight and was fined.
Hearn has said a possible third fight with Benn would be at 168 pounds. He also confirmed a lunch meeting with Eubank but said nothing is imminent.
Zerafa, 34, has fought mainly at light middleweight and middleweight. His biggest win came in 2019, when he stopped Jeff Horn in Bendigo, Australia. Horn won their rematch later that year.
