Ryan Garcia pummeled his way through Conor Benn, retaining the WBC welterweight championship in the main event of the September 12 Zuffa Boxing card that took place in Las Vegas.

But while Garcia won in the main event, he was not one of the four fighters who earned a bonus for the night.

The Performance of the Night bonuses went to Da’Mazion Vanhouter and Oswaldo Molina.

Vanhouter competed in the fight before the two title bouts and brutally knocked out Raphael Akpejiori. He scored a quick knockdown before a bizarre sequence resulted in an apparent shoulder separation. Nevertheless, Vanhouter continued, and he quickly found a pair of right hands to put Akpejiori out.

Molina, meanwhile, earned a decision victory over Paulo Rubio on the prelims in a battle of unbeaten fighters. Molina controlled the fight with better footwork and cleaner striking, nearly sweeping the scorecards.

The Fight of the Night, meanwhile, went to the prelim battle between Abel Gonzalez and Raul Salomon. Salomon got off to a hot start by landing a right hand late in round one that caused the first knockdown of Gonzalez’s career. Gonzalez, however, settled in by the third round, continuing to build his pressure and punching over the course of the latter six rounds to win the eight-round bout via unanimous decision.
