TNT Sports chairman and CEO Luis Silberwasser, who announced the network’s boxing partnership with DAZN in April, is leaving as Paramount Skydance’s takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery closes, according to CNBC’s Alex Sherman. CBS Sports president and CEO David Berson will run a newly formed global sports group that oversees all networks, platforms and territories.
That puts two of boxing’s biggest new U.S. television deals under one corporate parent. TNT Sports and DAZN announced the monthly series The Fight in April with a July 4 start, airing on TNT Sports networks and streaming on DAZN.
Zuffa Boxing, the promotion Dana White and Turki Alalshikh lead, is exclusive to Paramount+ in the United States under a deal announced in September 2025. Its cards stream on Paramount+.
When The Fight was announced, Silberwasser said the partnership would “allow TNT Sports to be a player in this growing sport,” according to the Warner Bros. Discovery press release. His farewell statement, per Variety, counts TNT’s move into professional live boxing among what his team added.
What Happens To The Fight
None of the reporting says what the new structure means for The Fight or for DAZN’s relationship with TNT. The Hollywood Reporter reports that a formal announcement of Berson’s role is expected in the next couple of days. The roughly $110 billion merger, which will operate under the Skydance name, is set to close Tuesday, October 6.
Berson has publicly framed the Paramount-UFC deal as a statement of Skydance’s commitment to live sports, according to Awful Announcing. With UFC and Zuffa Boxing on Paramount platforms and TNT’s DAZN series joining the same company, the combined group will have boxing programming coming in from two directions.
