Dana White thinks Terence Crawford has a price, and that it is a fight rather than a number.
Crawford retired after beating Canelo Alvarez last September to become undisputed super middleweight champion, and was stripped of the titles when he did. He has turned down offers since and has been consistent that he is done. He also hinted this week that he would come back for Jaron Ennis before walking it back again.
That was enough for White. Asked about Crawford against Ennis on Nightcap, he said the fight exists if someone puts it in front of him.
I think that, this is what I believe, if I went to Crawford with the right fight, Crawford will fight, yeah, I think Crawford will fight.
There aren’t a whole lot of guys out there that would be jumping to mix it up with him. Yeah, I love the Crawford vs Ennis fight.
He is not the only promoter saying it. Eddie Hearn told The Ring this week that Ennis is the fight that brings Crawford back, though he put a queue in front of it, with Ennis needing to get past Josh Kelly and then Sebastian Fundora to become undisputed at 154 first.
Hearn was also blunt about the physical side, saying Crawford’s body is breaking down and that he may not fight again, while adding that he is enough of a competitor to look at Ennis and fancy it.
Ennis unified at welterweight before moving up, taking the WBA and WBO titles from Xander Zayas with a seventh-round stoppage in June.
Crawford is 38. White is promoting boxing through Zuffa and working with Turki Alalshikh, which puts him in a position to make the offer if he wants to.
