Kell Brook is coming back, and he says the fight is close to signed.
The former IBF welterweight champion told talkSPORT he has renewed his licence with the British Boxing Board of Control and expects to announce a comeback bout shortly.

I can’t give anyone a clue over the opponent, but we won’t be waiting much longer. It’ll happen this year, it’s about done. I’ll return at middleweight or super-middleweight, around them divisions.
This is the second attempt. Brook had been booked to face Eisa Al Dah in Dubai earlier this year on a card raising money for the Ricky Hatton Foundation. Conflict in the region forced the postponement, and the event was reportedly moved to Manchester without a date ever being set.
Brook is 40 and has not fought since stopping Amir Khan in the sixth round in 2022, ending a rivalry that had taken more than a decade to make. Before that he was stopped in four by Terence Crawford in 2020, a long way from the version of himself who went to Los Angeles and took the IBF title off Shawn Porter in 2014.
The name most often attached to a comeback is Chris Eubank Jr, who has not fought since losing a decision to Conor Benn in November. Nothing has been announced by either side.
