Fury vs Joshua Cardiff Tickets Sell Out In Just One Hour

Tickets for Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua sold out in about an hour on Friday, with more than 500,000 people waiting in the online queue just minutes after sales opened, BBC Sport reports.

Around 80,000 tickets for the Dec. 11 fight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium went on sale via Ticketmaster at 12:00 BST. Prices ran from £88.50 to £13,128 including booking fees, roughly $120 to $17,000.

Fury predicted a quick sellout at the Sept. 30 launch press conference. “The tickets will probably sell out in about 39 seconds,” he said, according to FIGHTMAG. It took closer to an hour.

Resale listings appeared fast. BBC reported ringside VIP seats advertised at £73,645 and upper tier seats at £425.

The fight streams globally on Netflix. Ringwalks are expected around 01:00 GMT on Saturday, Dec. 12, after a short live music performance, and the stadium will stay open until 03:30. Organizers have not confirmed any undercard bouts.

The sellout follows a rocky stretch. Just 11 days before tickets went on sale, there was uncertainty over whether the fight would happen at all because of a dispute over Dana White’s role in the promotion. Netflix said Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and White would collaborate on promoting the event, while Eddie Hearn said Joshua’s contract prevented White from having a promotional role.

Fury and Joshua are reported to be sharing a purse worth close to $200 million.
