Amanda Serrano will fight for the final time on Saturday, January 9, 2027, defending her unified WBO and WBA featherweight world titles against Australia’s Skye Falzon at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, live on DAZN.
Most Valuable Promotions announced “The Last Walk” on Wednesday. The bout is scheduled for 12 three-minute rounds at 126 pounds, the same championship format used for men, and Serrano will be chasing the all-time women’s knockout record on her way out.
One knockout from history
Serrano enters at 50-4-1 with 32 knockouts. Her 32nd stoppage, against Cheyenne Hanson in May, tied her with Christy Martin for the women’s record, so a finish against Falzon would give her the mark outright in her last appearance.
The three-minute rounds carry their own weight. Serrano fought the first women’s unified world title bout over 12 three-minute rounds in 2023 and later vacated her WBC belt rather than give up on competing under equal rules. Her most recent defense, a majority decision over Lucrecia Manzur in August that streamed free on TikTok, was contested over 12 two-minute rounds and gave her a 50th professional win.
“To close my career at home in Puerto Rico, in front of the people who have supported me from the beginning, means everything,” Serrano said in MVP’s release. “On Saturday, January 9, I’m going to give the fans one final night to remember.”
The farewell lands a few months after her great rival walked away. Katie Taylor retired undisputed at Croke Park in September, having won all three of their fights.
Who is Skye Falzon?
Falzon is 12-2 with seven knockouts and sits at No. 4 in the WBA featherweight rankings. She won the WBA Asia and WBA Oceania featherweight titles with a fifth-round stoppage of Usanakorn Thawilsuhannawang in Batemans Bay in August 2025, where she also runs her own gym. She didn’t take up boxing until she was 24.
She made it clear she isn’t treating this as a ceremonial assignment.
“I have nothing but respect for Amanda Serrano. She is a pioneer, but I am not stepping into that ring just to share it with greatness,” Falzon said. “I am stepping in to prove that I belong there and to give everything I have to create my own piece of boxing history.”
Tickets and what’s next
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, November 3 at noon AST through Ticketera. The kickoff press conference follows that evening at 6:30 p.m. AST at DISTRITO T-Mobile in San Juan, with Serrano, Falzon, Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul all scheduled to appear.
MVP says the co-main event and the rest of the card will be announced in the coming weeks. Serrano, who signed a lifetime deal with the company, will stay with MVP after retiring to work on its women’s boxing efforts.
Paul called Serrano the foundation of MVP’s vision for the sport in a post on X following the announcement. “Together, we’ve shattered records, delivered some of the biggest events in combat sports history and proven that women’s boxing belongs on the world’s biggest stages,” he wrote. “The Last Walk is a celebration of an athlete who changed the sport forever.”
