Tim Tszyu doesn’t just want to beat Errol Spence. He wants him to quit.

The former WBO junior middleweight champion meets Spence on July 25 in Sydney, and he’s promising to break the former unified welterweight champ mentally from the opening bell. Tszyu laid out the plan to Fight Hub TV.

Ideally, Errol Spence just questions himself from the very get going, you know, and then taps out.

Asked point blank if he wanted to make Spence quit, Tszyu didn’t blink, answering, “Yeah, of course.” He believes the difference between a welterweight and a natural 154-pounder will show up fast.

I want to make him think, you know what, this isn’t a small Danny Garcia that I’m fighting against. This is the pure 154-pounder that can hit, that can put on a pace, and I want him to feel that.

Tszyu also senses he’s being overlooked, and he plans to make Spence pay for it.

I’m very motivated, and the fact that he’s underestimating me, I feel like he just thinks this guy’s going to be a walk in the park. But yet when I get in the ring there, I want to shock him.

Spence returns for the first time since his loss to Terence Crawford and a lengthy layoff. Tszyu, rejuvenated under new trainer Jeff Fenech, arrives off decision wins over Denis Nurja and Anthony Velazquez. Their 158-pound clash headlines a Sydney pay-per-view.
