The officials are set for Ryan Garcia’s WBC welterweight championship defense against Conor Benn.
The Nevada Athletic Commission selected Tom Taylor to referee the September 12 title fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Taylor will be responsible for overseeing the action as Garcia attempts to complete his first successful championship defense.
Tim Cheatham, Max DeLuca and David Sutherland were appointed as the three ringside judges. Each will score the scheduled 12-round contest if it reaches the final bell.
Garcia captured the WBC welterweight championship by earning a dominant unanimous decision over Mario Barrios in February. The victory took place at T-Mobile Arena, giving Garcia an opportunity to make his first title defense in the same building where he became a world champion.
Benn will be competing for a recognized world championship for the first time. The British contender earned the opportunity after defeating former junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis in his Zuffa Boxing debut.
The matchup represents the most prominent event presented under the Zuffa Boxing banner to date. Undefeated cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia will face Noel Mikaelian in the co-main event.
The complete Garcia-Benn card will stream live on Paramount+ in the United States at no additional charge to subscribers. Paramount+ will also carry the event across most international markets, while viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland can watch through DAZN.
Garcia-Benn takes place on the same day as Noche UFC in Arizona, creating a busy September 12 schedule for both combat-sports properties. UFC CEO and Zuffa Boxing founder Dana White has said he plans to attend both events.
