Mariusz Wach Vows To Ruin Fury vs Joshua

Mariusz Wach has a plan to blow up the biggest fight in British boxing: beat Tyson Fury first.

Fury meets the 46-year-old Polish veteran on July 24 in Pattaya, Thailand, a charity tune-up before a planned autumn showdown with Anthony Joshua. Wach is betting that Fury’s mind is already on that Joshua payday, not on him, and he told talkSPORT he plans to exploit it.

I’ve lost a few fights, but I will do my best to stop Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua from happening.

I think that Tyson Fury will not be 100 percent prepared for this fight because he is thinking about this fight with Joshua. I hope that he is very focused on making the Netflix series and that it will affect his preparation.

The numbers say he has no shot. Fury, 35-2-1 (24 KOs), is a massive favorite over Wach, 39-13 (20 KOs), a 100/1 underdog who has lost seven of his last 10. Fury bounced back from his back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk by outpointing Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, and a clean night in Thailand sets up the Joshua blockbuster. The event, staged for the inaugural WBC Humanitarian Title, won’t even air live; it’s being filmed for the third season of Fury’s Netflix series.
