Takuma Inoue defends the WBC bantamweight title against Tenshin Nasukawa in a rematch Sunday, September 27, from Toyota Arena in Tokyo. Main event ring walks are expected around 7:00am ET, with the card streaming on DAZN in the US and Prime Video in Japan.
Inoue won the first meeting by unanimous decision this past November, handing Nasukawa his first career loss. Nasukawa remains a massive domestic draw in Japan, and that popularity is a big reason he earned the immediate rematch rather than having to rebuild first.
What’s At Stake
- Inoue’s form: He followed the Nasukawa win with a May decision over Kazuto Ioka, dropping him twice along the way.
- Nasukawa’s form: He answered the loss by stopping Juan Francisco Estrada in the ninth round in April in a WBC final eliminator, the clearest sign yet he belongs at this level.
- The stacked undercard: This is a five-fight card with four total title fights, giving the night real stakes beyond the main event alone.
