George Liddard is stepping up to fight for European gold.
The in-form British and Commonwealth middleweight champion challenges for the European title on August 22, taking on Italy’s Dario Morello at London’s York Hall in Bethnal Green. Liddard, fresh off a win over Tyler Denny earlier this year, headlines the Saturday card.
The undercard is stacked with domestic action. Unbeaten middleweight prospect Leli Butigieg, 12-0 (4 KOs), takes on PA Gordon, while Jimmy Sains, 12-0 (10 KOs), faces Tom Cowling, 15-1 (4 KOs), for the Commonwealth middleweight title. Bristol prospect Tiah Mai Ayton also features against Ellie Hellewell.
A European title at York Hall, one of British boxing’s most storied venues, marks the biggest night yet for the rising Liddard as he looks to keep building toward world level.
