Eddie Hearn Gives Another Fury vs. Joshua Update

Eddie Hearn says the only thing that can stop Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua now is someone breaking the contract.

Speaking to DAZN, Hearn reiterated that Joshua’s deal is signed and that the venue is included in it.

The update is quite simple, we’ve signed the contract. We’re waiting for a date. Tyson Fury was shouting and screaming, there’s nothing to shout and scream about, the fight is done, it’s signed. Nobody can pull out of the fight.

He acknowledged that everyone else wants New York, and said Matchroom has given Sela its price for agreeing to it.

We know everybody and his dog involved in the fight wants to do the fight in America, we don’t. We’ve told Sela and the team, if you want to do it in America these are the terms we can move forward with, but we’d rather not please.

He then set out where he believes things stand.

The contract is signed, if they deliver on the contract which they have to legally, the fight happens in the UK, and we’ll be very happy. There is no suggestion the fight is not happening.

Nobody can stop this fight from not happening, the only way it can stop from happening is if they breach the contract. We have a contract to fight Tyson Fury in the UK and that’s what we expect to do.

Fury said last week that the fight looks unlikely and blamed Hearn and Joshua for wanting more money. Frank Warren has said Fury’s own agreement contains no UK clause, and BoxingScene reported that the two contracts were out of sync on date and location.

Both men came through warm-ups last month, Fury stopping Mariusz Wach in seven and Joshua stopping Kristian Prenga in two after being dropped twice.
