Eddie Hearn thinks Conor Benn has one move left.
Benn was stopped inside two rounds by Ryan Garcia earlier this month in a WBC welterweight title challenge. It was his second fight since leaving Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing for Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, after a flat outing against Regis Prograis.
Hearn told iFL TV that a third fight with Chris Eubank Jr is the only realistic option.
Conor Benn has got nowhere to go. Unless he wants to have a tough fight, and he will get knocked out again. Conor is probably looking at the Eubank fight and thinking, ‘that is really my only fight.’
Hearn has been linked to signing Eubank and has met with him. He said no further talks are planned, but made clear how he would handle a trilogy.
If I am representing Chris Eubank Jr, I am saying, ‘You have got a lot of options, if Conor wants to come back then you do it at your weight, with no rehydration clause and on your terms. If not, we will go and fight someone else.’
He sounded open to the idea of working with the 37-year-old.
We have got none [talks] planned, but I love storylines and f***ery and so does he. I thought that I was the king of f***ery, well it might be Eubank. It could be a sweet partnership.
Eubank and Benn fought twice last year, with Hearn on Benn’s side both times.
