Conah Walker wants Ryan Garcia to know Conor Benn was not the best Britain has to offer.
Garcia retained the WBC welterweight title with a second-round stoppage of Benn earlier this month. He has since said nobody wants to fight him and claimed Isaac Cruz has ducked him three times.
Walker answered on X.
Interesting Ryan Garcia saying nobody wants to fight him. I can tell you right now you didn’t even fight the best welterweight in the UK in your last fight. If you want some smoke, I’m ready when you are, son.
The former British champion has won four straight fights by knockout since losing a decision to Lewis Crocker in 2024 and bouncing back against Lewis Ritson. He is ranked No. 3 by the WBA and No. 7 by the IBF.
A proposed fight with former champion Brian Norman Jr. fell through. Walker is now reported to be headlining in Wolverhampton against Alexis Rocha, who is ranked No. 5 by the WBO.
Garcia, 28, is looking to fight again in December to make it three fights this year. He beat Mario Barrios by unanimous decision in February to win the title. Benn was the second British fighter Garcia has beaten, after Luke Campbell in 2021.
A unification with WBA champion Teofimo Lopez remains a goal for Garcia. However, Lopez has been ordered to face Jack Catterall, who shares management with Walker.
