Anthony Joshua will have Ben Davison in his corner as he prepares for Tyson Fury.

Eddie Hearn confirmed that Davison will be part of Joshua’s camp for the fight, which is set for Friday, December 11, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Davison has trained both Joshua and Fury in the past.

Hearn explained why Davison is a good fit, in a clip shared by Pro Boxing Fans.

Even when Ben wasn’t his principal trainer, he was just working with him, strategically, talking all of the time. I think he respects Ben a lot. Obviously, there is probably a feeling that Ben Davison knows Tyson Fury extremely well.

For me, I think that he is one of the best trainers in the world. I don’t know AJ’s final decision as to where he is going to locate his training camp but Ben Davison will definitely be involved in that camp and in that process.

It is not clear whether Davison will take over as lead trainer or work alongside Iegor Golub. Joshua has worked with Team Usyk’s Golub for his last two fights.

Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round last December. He then survived two knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga in the second round in July.

The fight appears back on track after several days of uncertainty. Fury has enrolled in VADA testing. The two are set to face off at a press conference on Wednesday, September 30, at the British Airways ARC at Olympia in London.
