Andy Ruiz Jr. thinks the Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua argument has an easy answer, and he wants a piece of the winner.
Ruiz, who beat Joshua for the unified heavyweight titles in 2019 before losing them back six months later, was at BKB 59 in Tijuana on September 19. He was asked about the tug of war over where Fury and Joshua should meet.
Well, it’s going back and forth. I don’t know if they’re postponing it because they want it here in the United States and then people want it over there in London or in the UK. But I mean, they’re both from over there.
His conclusion was simple.
So, I don’t know. I don’t see what’s the problem. I think it should be over there. I think they’re going to have more views and more people want to see it more over there.
He would rather be in the ring than watching it.
I just want the opportunity to fight either of them.
Ruiz appears to be getting his wish on the venue. Reports now point to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11, with an announcement expected soon.
Fury and Joshua both won tune-up bouts a day apart in July. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has said the fight would be a title eliminator once it is signed.
