Amari Jones will fight DeAundre Pettus in the main event of a DAZN card on November 20 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California, with undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela Fundora defending her crown against Jasmina Zapotoczna in the co-main event.
Jones (17-0) is the rising middleweight out of Oakland who has stopped his last three opponents. Fundora (18-0, 10 KOs) is the Coachella Valley native who holds the Ring, IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO flyweight titles.
What’s at stake
Fundora’s fight is billed as an undisputed flyweight world championship bout, so all five belts are on the line. Zapotoczna has been publicly asking for this fight since last December.
Jones is working toward a title shot of his own. He beat former IBF champion Vincenzo Gualtieri by third-round knockout in an IBF title eliminator in May, which made him the organization’s mandatory challenger. Aaron McKenna has since won the vacant IBF middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Etinosa Oliha in Dublin, and he is due to face Jones.
The case for each fighter
Jones, who trains under Virgil Hunter, dropped Gualtieri twice in the third round before the stoppage. The Ring ranked him No. 10 at middleweight heading into that fight. “I feel like I’m more of a finisher than a knockout puncher,” Jones told The Ring afterward.
Pettus (14-4, 7 KOs) is a 32-year-old from Columbia, South Carolina, who took up boxing after high school football. He has been the one stepping in against unbeaten opposition before. “You take down the big guy, you become the big guy,” Pettus told WACH ahead of a 2024 fight in Norfolk, Virginia.
Fundora most recently stopped Viviana Ruiz Corredor in six rounds on March 14 at Honda Center in Anaheim, dropping her in the fourth. She last fought at Fantasy Springs in September 2025, stopping Alexas Kubicki in the seventh round.
Zapotoczna (10-1) won the European flyweight title with a split decision over Chloe Watson and defended it against Justine Lallemand in France. Her only loss is to Shannon Ryan, a short-notice fight she took at super flyweight in 2024. “I would love to challenge myself against Gabriela Fundora,” Zapotoczna told FightPost last December.
