A Strong Prediction For Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn

Terence Crawford’s trainer is not giving Ryan Garcia much of a chance next month.

Brian “BoMac” McIntyre, asked on The Last Stand Podcast about Garcia’s first defence of the WBC welterweight title, went straight to a stoppage pick for Conor Benn.

Conor Benn is going to probably stop him. He gonna probably stop him, man. Ryan ain’t been the same since that first fight with Haney, he got popped. He just never got back to that type of winning.

I have seen Benn first hand, man that dude is going to destroy Garcia. You heard it first from BoMac.

The Haney reference is to April 2024, when Garcia dropped Haney three times and won a majority decision that was later overturned to a no contest after he tested positive for ostarine. He served a suspension, lost to Rolando Romero in May 2025, and then took the WBC belt off Mario Barrios in February with a wide unanimous decision at the same arena where he now defends it.

Benn arrives with his own history on that subject, having failed two tests for clomifene in 2022, which is why the fight was years in the making. He beat Chris Eubank Jr. in a November rematch and outpointed Regis Prograis in April, and this will be his first world title fight. He has not made 147 pounds since 2022.

Garcia and Benn meet on Saturday, September 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, co-promoted by Golden Boy and Zuffa Boxing on Mexican Independence Day weekend, with Jai Opetaia and Noel Mikaelian in the co-main. The card streams on Paramount+ globally and on DAZN in the UK and Ireland.
